At 5 years old, Tyson’s big brother caught him jumping on his bed blaring Ozzy vinyl's on his record player. Those records, Zeppelin, Ozzy, and Aerosmith made him feel something other than shame for his ADHD. It was a place he could unleash and be free… until his brother pounded the shiz out of him. Even that couldn’t stop Tyson from pursuing music. He learned piano by watching his brother’s piano lessons and mimicking the keys. He went on to develop his talent on drums and eventually performed as a drummer for the Bands Holy Revolver and Moon Grove. Ideas for songs began to flood his creative mind so he began to teach himself guitar. He learned from MartyMusic on youtube and began hashing out fun riffs and compositions. His first full song, Beyond The Grave was inspired by the death of his mother. His band Moon Grove helped compose the song and get it out into the world. When his band refused to play anymore of his songs, and his ex wife refused to let him play in the house, shaming him, and shutting him down, he nearly quit music altogether. Everything changed when he met Kara Koeven. She not only became his inspiration, but encouraged him to pursue his talent and dreams. Within a few short months he had written and composed several songs inspired by their love; songs like Ecstasy, Need You, Be Here With Me, One More Try, Come Back to Me, Celestial Beauty and more. Kara Koeven is an author of contemporary and fantasy romance and started writing songs along with Tyson. Together they created Tiger Eyes, The River, Amethyst Angel, Raging Storm, Battleworn, and many others inspired by the challenges and beauty of coming together in a relationship, overcoming PTSD, and the power of love to heal even the deepest scars. Though shy with his deep, sultry voice, Kara says, “He sounds like a modern Johnny Cash,” and believes his voice to be an irresistible asset to the industry. Tyson says that music is a fun sandbox that he loves to play in. His gratitude for his freedom to create and the fans that listen and send him love in return means the world to him.
This song was inspired by my parents dancing in the kitchen. My dad had a way of pulling mom in and swaying with her no matter what mood she was in. It was his way of connecting and coming back to each other especially when she was mad at him. They have both passed now, but I often think of the example they set and try to give the most to my honey, pull her in and sway.
