We recently caught up with rising star Savannah Rae from San Antonio, Texas. Enjoy the feature below and make sure you tune in to hear her new single "Dead End Street" now.

How did you get started in music?
My parents started taking me to concerts and music festivals when I was younger. I absolutely loved the whole scene. When I was 11, I went to an Evanescence concert and saw Amy Lee up on stage. I thought she was incredible and told my parents that I wanted to do what she was doing. Thankfully, my parents took me very seriously when I said this and enrolled me into vocal lessons and guitar lessons. I had my first full band show at a place called Sam’s Burger Joint in San Antonio and caught the music bug right then and there! The rest was history.

Who were your favorite artists growing up?
I listened to everything growing up, but I really loved rock and country music. Some of my favorites included George Strait, Avril Lavigne, My Chemical Romance, Miranda Lambert, Motley Crue, etc. I had a very eclectic playlist!

What inspires your music?
I typically write just based off of what I know/what I’ve experienced. I find it’s not only easier, but makes it that much more personable and special when you write from the heart. I’ve always thought of my songs as somewhat diary entries and a great way to get anything off my chest.

How would you describe your music to someone who's never heard your music?
I would describe my music as country with a rock edge. A mixture of Miranda Lambert, Koe Wetzel, and Hardy. I love live shows so I try to write really upbeat, rockin songs that would translate well to on stage.

Who would you love to share a stage/perform with and why?
I would love to share the stage with any of the artists I’ve previously mentioned! I think our styles would go well together and mesh nicely. Miranda Lambert, Koe Wetzel, Hardy, plus Brantley Gilbert, Jelly Roll and Jason Aldean!

What are you currently working on?
I’ve recently been in the studio writing and recording a ton. I’ve really focused on getting new music done this year and I’m excited to finally put those songs out soon! It always takes a while to get new songs together and completed so I can’t wait to share when they’re ready.

What are your ultimate goals for your career?
I’m trying to take this as far as I can go. From the Opry, to the Ryman, to Red Rocks, to overseas…I have very big dreams and aspirations when it comes to music. I pretty much always have! So I’m going to keep truckin and workin hard to make those dreams happen.

Where can we find you online?
