A brand new country pop/rock band hailing from South Wales, continuing in the footsteps of Welsh music traditions, by intertwining storytelling with popular music of the day. Providing strong lyric and word play, with an accessible foundation of country pop/rock music.

Theis new single "One Man Show" was written about publicly performing other people’s music on your own, after Satellite Park singer Craig started a family and found himself performing solo cover gigs just for the money. An experience that can be joyful, unfulfilling, communal, lonely, insightful and soul distorting all at the same time!

Where is Satellite Park from?

We are from different parts of South Wales. I myself am from a little town with a big reputation, Port Talbot in South Wales, UK. We are very proud that both Sir Anthony Hopkins and Richard Burton grew up and started their acting trade here.

How did you get started in music? Did you have a musical family?

No one in my family played an instrument or sung, but I was surrounded by an eclectic mix of music growing up, with music playing alot from my mother's influences, like T Rex, Frankley Lane, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straights, to my older sister being in to a lot of pop like NKOTB, Wham, to KFL, De La Soul to rave music, so there was lots going on and lots of styles to pick from. I first picked up a guitar when I was probably 10 or 11, and I found out that Mr James, a teacher at my school, gave guitar lessons for 30 mins one lunchtime every week, so I managed to get an acoustic guitar and off to the lessons i went. That was the start of my musical journey really. If Mr James hadn't done that, I genuinely don't know if I would have ever started playing music.


Who were your favorite artists growing up?
Queen, T Rex, Dire Straights, Franky Lane,


What inspires your music?

Mainly the love of playing. I get grumpy and sad if I don't play. It's a kinda therapy for me really. I would say I hear people like Mark Knoflers lyrics and that makes me want to write music, or see someone like Laney Wilson who i was lucky enough to meet at a Josh Turner gig in the UK, i saw her perform live and that made me want to play live again. Listening to Josh Turner singing makes me want to sing. So there's many different inspirations for many different aspects of my music.


How would you describe your music to someone who's never heard it before?

That's one I'm struggling with! I write a song the best I can, then I will frame it in the style I feel best suits it before I let the other guys hear it, as I want to make the best music I can, no matter how it sounds. One Man Show was Country from about 2 mins after I started writing it, and it's my favorite song we have done so far. We are due back in the studio later this month, so it will be interesting to see if One Man Show affects the sound of the rest of the album.

What would a dream collaboration or co-headlining tour be? 

Well, that's a big question. Collaboration I'd probably have to say at the moment... it's between Chet Atkins and Mark Knofler, Mark's song written is so good it feels unattainable to me, so to be part of that could mean I end up with a song so good I'd have to retire, lol. Chet is a complete legend in my eyes. I'd be so happy to have an album like he and Tommy Emmanuel made, it just sounds like it was alot of fun to make when you listen to it, and it's two musical legends just doing what they love. So I'd go Chet, so I don't feel the need to retire, lol. 

Co-headline a tour? 
Queen, them songs, that showmanship, and I'd get a front row seat every night of the tour!

What are you currently working on?

The rest of our first album "Alpha Alpha" which is due out this summer, and Iv started working with a songwriter from my old band for tracks for the next album.

What are your ultimate goals for your career? 

Either to make a living off our own music or chart in the UK or US
