We were able to catch up with Michigan recording artist Libby Dietrix while promoting her new single "Waters" from her album "Wild Midwest".
How did you get started in music? Did you grow up in a musical household? My parents have an eclectic taste in music. My grandparents had a piano that was my mom’s and I always loved playing it and it eventually became mine.
Who were your favorite artists growing up?
Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, and Lou Bega
What inspires your songs? Life!
How would you describe your music to someone who's never heard you before?
My music is a wild card and has inspiration from my journey through the world.
What would a dream collaboration be? (artist, producer, songwriter, etc)
A dream collaboration is working with Janelle Monáe and Lady Gaga.
What are you currently working on?
Currently I am working on multiple albums and continuing to write and songs that come to mind as I feel inspired.
What are your ultimate goals for your career.
An ultimate goal for my career is to have a world music event where everyone is playing a song at the same time and dancing together.
