Timothy James Interview

How did you get started in music? I got started when I was 17 after hearing my friend's dad play guitar around a campfire. I was hooked ever since. Who were your favorite artists growing up? My favorite artists were lots of early hit makers. Buddy Holly, Elvis, Sinatra. Then of course I went through my Hendrix phase. My music runs pretty deep and I pull influences from all sorts of genres. What inspires your music? To me when I look out into the crowd and I see people singing my songs or sharing with me that one of my songs is their wedding song. That right there is what moves me. How would you describe your music to someone who's never heard your music? I would say it’s 90’s country but in a modern feel. Still has the elements of traditional but with a bit of attitude. What is “Give Me the Spins” about? Give me the spins is about a guy who is totally crazy for this woman but he never seems to catch up with her. He is always a few steps behind. The infatuation of the beginnings of love. What are your ultimate goals for your career? My goal is to keep making the best music I can get it out to the world. That’s a legacy I’d be proud of leaving behind. Follow Timothy James on social media website | Instagram | Facebook | TikTok | YouTube | X
